The Giraffe Resource Center is a knowledge center for information on all four giraffe species and aims to collect, preserve and catalog all available publications on giraffe in one central and easily accessible repository. It is an initiative of the Giraffe Conservation Foundation that aims to be an asset to the international conservation community.

While there is not an abundance of giraffe related literature, important articles about their ecology, taxonomy, management and health are regularly published. Often, these publications are difficult to access, especially for those living or working in Africa. Many scientific journals securely store their publications behind paywalls, which makes these articles unattainable for young students, managers, conservationists, and academics alike.

The Giraffe Resource Center is a key tool for sharing valuable giraffe related information.

Giraffe are in trouble. Three of the four giraffe species are under threat of extinction and require urgent protection and improved management actions in the wild. Making the latest, most relevant and up-to-date information on all giraffe available to everybody who is involved with saving these iconic African animals and their habitats is crucial for their effective conservation and management.

The Giraffe Conservation Foundation is committed to making the latest scientific information available to everyone through the Giraffe Resource Center, an online knowledge hub dedicated to everything giraffe. So far we have collated over 1,500 articles and publications that are now stored in the Giraffe Resource Center for public online access.
